NORTH REDINGTON BEACH — The election scheduled for March has been cancelled because the mayor and commissioners were unopposed.

By the end of the qualifying period, no one had come forward to challenge those offices held by Mayor Bill Queen; Commissioner Richard Bennett, Seat 1, and Commissioner Gary Curtis, Seat 2. They will be sworn in for two-year terms in March.

First elected in 2005, Queen will be serving his eighth term.

Bennett will be serving his ninth term in Seat 1.

Curtis will be serving his 11th term. Curtis, the longest serving member currently on the board, was first elected in 1999.
