Volunteers sought for mural, triathlon

Clearwater seeks volunteers to assist with mural

The city of Clearwater is seeking volunteers to help a professional artist paint a ground mural at the former Clearwater City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave., parking lot on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

Beth Warmath, a Clearwater resident and internationally recognized muralist, will lead the artwork and will assist the volunteers through the process. Warmath will draw the outline, and volunteers will paint her designs. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and no art experience is necessary. Paints and brushes will be provided at the event. Largo hosts mobile chemical and electronic disposal event

Largo is hosting a mobile chemical and electronic disposal event on Saturday at the Home Depot at 10689 Ulmerton Road from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring hazardous items such as fluorescent light bulbs, cleaners, computers, TV’s, printers, ink cartridges, rechargeable household batteries, pesticides, paints, paint thinners, fertilizers and automotive fluids to properly dispose. This service is offered for free to Pinellas County residents. Businesses with electronics or chemicals should arrange for drop off and payment by calling EQ Florida at (813)319-3400. St. Anthony's Triathlon seeks volunteers

The St. Anthony’s Triathlon is seeking volunteers for the 36th annual St. Anthony’s Triathlon weekend, to be held April 26-28. About 1,000 volunteers are needed to assist the 3,500 athletes who will swim, bike, and run along St. Petersburg’s waterfront course. Volunteers are needed to assist at areas including: athlete check-in, Meek and Mighty, bike check-in, finish-line duty, athlete body marking, water stations, transition areas and merchandise sales. All volunteers will receive a commemorative race T-shirt, access to the volunteer hospitality tent and the opportunity to watch talented triathletes compete at the race.
