Florida State is the state's only program ranked in the AP preseason Top 25, which was released Sunday afternoon. The Seminoles come in at No. 10 - two spots lower than their ranking in the coaches' poll.
The Gators are unranked for the second year in a row, although they received four votes.
This is the second time since 1983 that only one school from Florida appeared in the preseason rankings; the same thing happened last year, when the Seminoles began 2014 No. 1 in the country.
Ohio State is the first team in poll history to begin the season as the unanimous top choice, getting all 61 first-place votes. TCU is second, followed by Alabama, Baylor and Michigan State.
The other SEC programs ranked are: No. 6 Auburn, No. 9 Georgia, No. 14 LSU, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 24 Missouri and No. 25 Tennessee.
Clemson (12th) and Georgia Tech (16) are ranked from the ACC, and partial member Notre Dame is No. 11.
