Marco Rubio rejected the term "anchor babies" in a TV interview today.
"Those are human beings and ultimately they are people, we're not just statistics, they're humans with stories," he said on CNBC.
He also sought to differentiate his situation -- he was born in 1971 but his parents did not beome citizens until 1975 -- noting his parents were in the country legally for a decade. Rubio on Tuesday in Iowa told reporters that he disagreed with Donald Trump's idea to get rid of birthright citizenship but that abuses should be addressed.
