Music festival lineups are always big news. Here in Florida, country festival lineups are even bigger news, since the state is loaded with 'em (Tortuga, the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, the Florida Country Superfest, etc.)
But the lineup for next year's Runaway Country lineup is truly special. The fest is relocating from Melbourne to the Orlando area, meaning it's just the road for Tampa Bay fans. And considering the A-list lineup Runaway 2016 is building, we're betting plenty will make the trip.
Kenny Chesney, Eric Church and Jake Owen will headline Runaway Country's 2016 lineup, organizers announced today. Joining them are Old Dominion, Craig Wayne Boyd, Maddie and Tae, Grayson Rodgers, Johnny Bulford and Lockhart, Old Southern Moonshine Revival and several big-name acts yet to be announced.
The festival is March 18-20 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, about 90 minutes east of Tampa and just off the Florida Turnpike. Campsites are on sale now for all three days, or if you just want tickets, they're $89 per day ($159-$189 reserved seating) or $129 ($299-$319) for the weekend. Parking and campground services are extra.
Neither Chesney nor Church have announced plans to tour in Tampa in 2016, and while it's not out of the question, we wouldn't expect any further local concert plans until after this festival, at least. So if you want to see either of them, this is your chance.
