Behold the glorious sight that is the official poster of Sharknado 2: The Second One.
Yep. On July 30, the SyFy sequel, based in New York City this time around, is finally coming to a flat screen near you. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid return from the original, which drew nearly 1.37 million viewers and about a bazillion times more tweets — 5,000 per minute at its peak, to be exact.
The lead actors are joined by Vivica A. Fox, Mark McGrath, Kelly Osbourne, Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick, Judd Hirsch and Perez Hilton. Matt Lauer and Al Roker of Today and Robert Klein make cameo appearances, the Associated Press reports.
"It's a whole different story, not just sharks ripping through flesh," co-star Kari Wuhrer said Tuesday at NBC's summer TV presentation. "New York is a character in the movie, the weather is a character in the movie."
Plus, joked Friedlander, who essentially demanded a role in the sequel, "This to me is the most important film ever made about climate change," featuring "some of the top shark actors in the world."
Badum-ch. (That's the drum sound.)
