Overall, the Rays improved to 19-19 all-time, winning their last three - beating Oakland on April 20, 2013 on a Matt Joyce homer, and beating the Yankees on July 27,
2013 on a Kelly Johnson single. They had lost their previous five 1-0 games.
Also, Tuesday was the first 1-0 AL game decided from the ninth on in nearly a year, since the Indians beat the White Sox on April 12, 2013. In the interim there were 14 National
League or interleague games decided like that.
