What?

We’ve all probably uttered this question more times than we can count, but for nearly 50 million Americans who suffer from hearing loss (that’s one in five adults), “What?” is practically a catchphrase.

Heather Kuck knows this all too well. She struggled with her own hearing issues for years, affecting her life not only at home but at work as well.

“I was tired of saying ‘what?’ all the time, and my husband was tired of repeating himself,” she shared. “As a restaurant hostess, I often missed what people were saying. It was embarrassing.”

When her hearing troubles began making her feel timid, unsure of herself and even isolated, she knew it was time to leap into action and face the issue head-on. She purchased her first set of hearing aids, but she wasn’t quite satisfied with the results.

After catching a TV spot featuring local media personality Jack Harris, she decided to schedule a hearing consultation and examination at Audibel. During her appointment, one of Audibel’s compassionate hearing aid specialists conducted an audiometric test of Heather’s ears, explaining its results to Heather with a detailed audiogram; this enabled Heather to understand her type of hearing loss. She was then fitted with state-of-the-art hearing aids for her specific issues – and the difference has been striking.

“I feel wonderful!” she beamed. “I’m really glad I switched to the new technology. My own voice now sounds true and natural, and I like being able to hear surrounding speech more clearly.

“I now have confidence across the board – at home, at work, and even when I’m driving.”

Like Heather, you can gain a better quality of life through proper hearing. All 27 convenient Audibel Hearing Centers throughout the Tampa Bay area offer a free hearing screening with no obligation, as well as a unique 45-day trial on most hearing aids.

“Audibel is amazing – very caring and understanding,” Heather added. “They even let me borrow a pair of hearing aids before making my ultimate decision. Who does that?”
