True to Andy Warhol’s words, Hunter Harris, a successful entrepreneur and one of the top up-and-coming collectors of NFT (non-fungible token; in this case, art that only exists in the digital world), is a classic example of people living in the art world. Hunter is taking the art collection world by storm with creativity and the sector’s innovation. He had some space at Art Basel, where he showcased some of his greatest pieces to the world. Hunter takes a great deal of interest in fast-changing technology, particularly NFTs with blockchain technology. He recently purchased a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT for 45 ETH (in Ethereum, a cryptocurrency; worth $173,942.55). Hunter is also working on his upcoming eccentric NFT exhibit, which will feature only one piece from one of his artists.

Hunter was born in Sarasota, FL, and lives in Miami, Florida. Growing up, Hunter loved playing video games and having in-game trading economies such as Runescape and World of WorldCraft. At 13, Hunter was already making a living from the in-game marketplaces by monetizing the game currency into real currency. Hunter also showed great interest and passion for collecting, in particular art. He loved acquiring outstanding art pieces that were appealing to him. Hunter found art to be therapeutic and also a potential business opportunity that he grew up dreaming about. He dedicated a lot of time to learning, analyzing, and understanding game marketplaces and the art world, searching for plausible deals to make money.

Today he is one of the top art collectors globally, keeping up with the industry’s trends. He is at the forefront of the push for the full adoption of NFTs in the art world. Hunter sees NFTs as the future for the art industry. To him, blockchain has made it possible for him to connect with people anywhere at any time and collect art via the blockchain. Blockchain’s importance played out in 2020 after the industry was thrown into a standstill by the COVID-19 pandemic. Art collectibles became rare to find, as numerous art fairs and exhibitions were closed indefinitely.

“It is my goal to eliminate the necessity of travel and diversify into modern-day times by allowing my clients to attain artwork anywhere in the world and at any time of day. The industry is just emerging, and I want to bring awareness to the NFT space and provide an avenue for collectors to diversify their portfolios,” says Hunter.

A trusted advisor for many collectors in the NFT space, Hunter wants to expand and grow more relationships. His goal is to hit certain milestones in terms of facilitating and assisting old legacy wealth, transitioning their investment strategies, and helping families. Hunter wants to allow people to diversify their portfolios for those new in the space with the wealth to buy into it. Hunter, a characteristic entrepreneur, believes there is a lot of money to be made in this space, and he wants to build his wealth from it.

To Hunter, life starts at the edge of your comfort zone, and you need to push your limits to achieve the unattainable.
