Dr. Nitin J. Engineer is a renowned fellowship-trained plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic, reconstructive, hand, and microvascular surgery. Dr. Engineer is the founder, CEO, and principal surgeon at Engineered Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Institute and Med Spa, an accredited facility dedicated to serving the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area. He has over ten years of training, two fellowships to his credit, and shares in his patients’ best interest, emphasizing a positive experience during their plastic surgical journey.

Since high school, Dr. Engineer was destined to become a surgeon. He had secured one of only two highly coveted opportunities for high school students to work as an anesthesia technician in the operating room in his hometown of Macon, Georgia. Working in the operating room at such a young age exposed him to real surgical experiences, enabling him to learn more about complex reconstructive operations. He was fascinated with plastic and reconstructive surgery for its ability to reconstruct form and restore function for patients with complex ailments and disfigurements. A passionate surgeon in the making, Dr. Engineer worked in this role for three years, establishing the foundation for his plastic and reconstructive surgery career.

He enrolled at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he excelled in his premedical undergraduate studies, allowing him to subsequently gain admission into the prestigious Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. After earning his Doctorate of Medicine in 2000, Dr. Engineer began his general surgical training at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his general training at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois, after which he began an intensive fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the same institution with the Division of Plastic Surgery. Following completion of the Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship in 2007, Dr. Engineer joined his longtime mentor as a Clinical Instructor of Hand and Microvascular Surgery with the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky, where he taught medical students, residents, and fellows.

Dr. Engineer left Louisville, Kentucky, and moved into the private sector in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2009 and ultimately started his own private practice, Extremicure® Hand Center. Dr. Engineer was given the opportunity to return to Louisville in 2016 to train in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship with his former teacher and mentor, Dr. Bradon J. Wilhelmi. While this was a shock to many, considering Dr. Engineer had established a successful practice for many years in Henderson, Nevada, he embraced the opportunity to expand his horizons, augment his skillset, and, ultimately, broaden the scope of his practice. During his three-year fellowship, Dr. Engineer graduated with the highest number of performed cases and earned the Clinical Excellence Award in 2019.

Upon his return to Las Vegas, Dr. Engineer established the Engineered Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Institute and Med Spa. As a plastic surgeon, his mission is to provide his patients with a unique and personalized experience in a boutique environment to help them achieve their plastic surgery goals in Cosmetic, Reconstructive, and Hand Surgery.

Dr. Engineer advises any aspiring doctor to conquer their fears and pursue their dreams despite the challenges faced. It is important to live without regrets because the rewards of chasing one’s passion are priceless. Most importantly, it is essential to invest in oneself and appreciate the value of one’s time. It is the greatest commodity one owns, and it is paramount to safeguard it.

Dr. Engineer has an amazing staff at Engineered Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Institute and Med Spa with six highly experienced individuals, including a practice manager, patient care coordinator, two medical assistants, and two aestheticians.
