Finding the path out of homelessness

The ultimate goal of this program is getting individuals off the street and into permanent housing. While the model is self-sustaining, donations are always needed to help us expand.

Access to low-barrier, affordable housing is necessary for an individual to exit homelessness. There is a major lack of this housing, and it is only growing more scarce as time passes. One of the key problems facing any attempt to end homelessness is that therapy and support services are ultimately useless when one’s living conditions are as horrid as those the homeless experience. And many homeless are unable to leave the streets because rent is too expensive (and still increasing), or renter qualifications are too strict.

Homeless Helping Homeless, Inc. is raising money to expand our permanent housing program, which provides the most affordable and accessible housing options available. The most significant barrier preventing Homeless Helping Homeless from helping more clients is our lack of housing. Our program works so well because we can provide permanent housing, even to tenants without a job. But whenever we completely fill our permanent housing capacity, it becomes a struggle to secure housing for the remainder of our clients.

Our goal with the fundraising campaign is to raise funds to acquire more housing so we can continue to renew and revitalize the lives of those in underserved homeless communities. We are looking to raise $250,000 for this expansion to our housing program, and $54,000 is already saved to go toward this goal. Your financial support, received through our GoFundMe page (at gofundme.com/f/hhome) will be used exclusively to expand this permanent housing to get more individuals off the streets and out of homelessness. The homeless housing crisis can be fixed, but the homeless, the city, and Homeless Helping Homeless, Inc., urgently need your financial contributions to make that happen. Please donate whatever you can spare to the Affordable Housing Expansion Project today.
