The Orlando Magic got out of the gate first in the NBA coaching derby Thursday morning, becoming the first team to fire its coach.

The Magic fired Frank Vogel, who lost 67 percent of his games in two seasons.

Orlando will open next season with a new coach for the fourth time in five seasons: Jacque Vaughn in 2014, Scott Skiles in 2015, Frank Vogel in 2016 and TBA in 2018. It hasn't made the playoffs since firing Stan Van Gundy after a 2012 first-round loss.
