UPDATE, 10:01: Rays manager Kevin Cash said Kiermaier has a “nasty” blister that will likely keep him out of the lineup for the next few days that is related to breaking in a new pair of cleats.

Cash said Kiermaier threw barefoot in the batting cages on Saturday. Cash left Kiermaier’s availability open for Monday’s home game against the Marlins, but it appears he won’t play that game.

UPDATE, 9:44: Kiermaier is not in the lineup; he said he is “fine” and was under the impression he was playing Monday and Tuesday.

"I knew I wasn’t playing today,'' he said. "We’re taking it easy on my blister (on his right heel). I was scheduled to go Monday and Tuesday. I thought that was the plan from the jump.''

DEVELOPING: The Rays are back in Port Charlotte today, with a day game after a night game, to host the Yankees.

Tyler Glasnow will be the starter for the Rays, and likely to unveil the new pause he has incorporated into his delivery. Also scheduled to pitch for the Rays are Yonny Chirinos and Ryne Stanek.

The game will be the first of a franchise most 11 shown by Fox Sports Sun, and marks the debut of new reporter Tricia Whitaker.

The Yankees are starting Jonathan Loaisiga, and not bringing many name players, with newcomer D.J. LeMahieu (the former Rockie) and Clint Frazier, Austin Romine, Luke Voit and probalbly the most recognizable.
