UPDATE, 10:50: Nick Solak said he was fine after the scary incident of being hit on the helmet by a pitch Saturday, went through the concussion protocol after the game, was okay during the night and doesn’t expect any lingering issues. Had it happened to him before? "I know this doesn’t sound good, but I don’t remember,'' he said. ... Cash said “nothing new” on Duffy (hamstring), "he’s going to be out for a little bit I would anticipate, a few more days.'' ... The Rays have several of their top relievers going today, including Alvarado, Castillo and Stanek in what hasn’t yet been an overly impressive spring. Cash said "I like that the guys are healthy, there is going to be a date where we’ve got to start locking in strike-throwing a little bit.'’ They’ll start pitching more often going forward. Rays are also taking another look today at Poche, who has not been sharp.
Here is the Red Sox lineup:
UPDATE, 10:35: Tommy Pham was scratched from the original lineup due to issues with his shoulder. He’s been doing strengthening and was going to DH only for a week. Cash said Pham’s shoulder "is not bouncing back maybe like he wanted it to,'' will take “two days off of nothing” and then plan to DH on Tuesday. Pham expects to be back in the outfield by the end of the week.
Here is the new Rays lineup:
DEVELOPING: The Rays get a look at the World Series champ Red Sox today in a 1:05 game in Port Charlotte.
Though non-roster righty Casey Sadler is scheduled to start for the Rays, most of their key relievers are slated for action against their AL East rivals, including Jose Alvarado, Diego Castillo and Ryne Stanek. Today also will be the first game action for Ryan Yarbrough since he felt tightness in his groin Feb. 28.
The Red Sox are starting righty Rick Porcello.
Here is the Rays lineup posted in the clubhouse Saturday, and subject to change:
Also scheduled to throw for the Rays is Emilio Pagan who has had an impressive camp.
