Rays Monday: 1:05, vs. Phillies in Clearwater

UPDATE, 1:30: Rays Snell is slated for only 2 innings or so today; he matched up with Bryce Harper in the 1st inning and struck him out looking at a 96 mph fastball to end the inning.

UPDATE, 12:04: Brandon Lowe took a ground ball off the face during BP but is fine and will stay in the lineup, the Rays say.

UPDATE, 11:58: Cash said no real updates on Pham (shoulder) or Duffy (hamstring). Pham still slated to DH on Tuesday in Dunedin, Duffy doing only "pretty minimal stuff,'' with Cash saying they don’t want to put a deadline on things but next Monday is probably a key date in determining if he can be ready for opening day. Cash said he remains optimistic. .. Among the minor leaguers on the trip today is Josh Lowe, the younger brother of Nate Lowe. Josh was the first round pick in 2016 and played last year at advanced Class A Charlotte.

DEVELOPING: The Rays open a two-day north Pinellas County swing today with a game against the Phillies in Clearwater.

The marquee attraction is a matchup between Rays Cy Young award winner Blake Snell and Phillies $330-million man Bryce Harper, who is slated to be in the lineup.

Three candidates for long relief/bulk inning jobs, Yonny Chirinos, Jalen Beeks and Wilmer Font, are also scheduled to pitch.
