DEVELOPING: The Rays are back in Port Charlotte today, as they’ll send their new starter, Charlie Morton, to the mound against his former Pirates teammates.

Morton spent 2009-15 with Pittsburgh, compiling a 41-62, 4.39 record. He was traded to the Phillies for the 2016 season, but made only four starts before a season-ending injury then signed with the Astros and enjoyed tremendous success, going 29-10, 3.36 and getting the win in the seventh and decisive games of the AL Championship and the World Series.

Also of note today, Tommy Pham is slated to return to leftfield after spending two plus weeks limited to DH duty as he worked on a right shoulder strengthening program to improve this throwing.
