The Lightning generated plenty of buzz on Twitter Tuesday night after Columbus stunningly swept them out of the playoffs. Take a look at what fans and non-fans are saying about their team.

One of the most popular came from the Lightning’s Twitter account. I’m told this also can be used to heal disputes between couples:

To say the apology wasn’t received well by some would be an understatement.

Of course, the Lightning had its fans. I guess the mean people would call them apologists, unless they knew they were responding to someone who may be the city’s next mayor.

There also was a Sabres fan, who may not get his way. Perhaps, however, he puts the anger of Lightning fans in perspective.

Meanwhile, some Lightning fans may want ESPN’s Chris Fowler to stick to college football and tennis. But he’s got a point

This guy suggests John Tortorella calmed his demeanor for the postseason. I wouldn’t bet on that.

What does the Lightning’s season 2018-19 season have to do with youth soccer? A lot, apparently.

Well, at least the Lightning have a logo for its 2018-19 effort.

Here’s another response to the apology. It’s a threat to the job security of a lot of people.
