Former Jefferson High and Temple receiver Ventell Bryant, promoted to the Dallas Cowboys active roster last fall, was arrested by Tampa police early Wednesday morning on a charge of driving under the influence.

Bryant, 23, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. at 27th Place/27th Avenue East, and booked a couple of hours later on a $500 cash bond. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office records indicate he had a blood-alcohol content between .102 and .099 percent.

In Florida, the legal limit to drive is .08.

Bryant finished his Temple career in 2018 as the Owls’ all-time leading receiver with 173 catches for 2,444 yards. He went undrafted in 2019 and, after a brief stint in the Bengals camp, signed with the Cowboys practice squad last September.

He was promoted to the active roster last October, and recorded one catch.
