Lightning injury list gets a little longer

Published Dec. 1, 2017

BRANDON — Four players did not skate for the Lightning at Friday's practice, and coach Jon Cooper indicated afterward that callups from AHL Syracuse would be needed to flush out the roster for tonight's game against the Sharks at Amalie Arena.

Forward Cory Conacher was called up Friday afternoon.

Defenseman Jake Dotchin, who did not play during the four-game road trip because of an undisclosed injury, did not practice. He was joined on the sideline by forwards Ryan Callahan and Cedric Paquette, and defenseman Braydon Coburn.

Paquette will miss tonight's game because of a one-game suspension for boarding Bruins defenseman Torey Krug during Wednesday's game in Boston.

When asked about Callahan and Coburn, Cooper said, "There's definitely some maintenance issues going on here. Hopefully it's not long term."

Dotchin was seen doing stretching exercises next to the rink during the first part of practice. Cooper said he is doing light skating. "Hopefully within the next week we get him back," Cooper said.
