Marc Topkin's takeaways from Tuesday's Rays-Blue Jays game

Published Jun. 14, 2017

RHP Jake Faria impressed again, not only in how well he pitched while taking a shutout into the seventh against the power-laden Blue Jays but how coolly, calmly and calamity-free he did so, scattering six hits and allowing just one run.

DH Corey Dickerson and RH closer Alex Colome get most of the chatter as potential Rays All-Stars, but 1B Logan Morrison is swinging his way into the conversation, on Tuesday lashing a three-run shot for his 18th homer, second most in the AL.

DH Corey Dickerson is fighting a losing battle in the fan vote for an AL All-Star berth, but you'd think he'd have support among the players who vote for the reserves, pushing his average to .337 after rapping three singles and his 15th homer.
