TAMPA — This has been a big week for Ndamukong Suh.
After spending the offseason unsigned, veteran defensive tackle officially became a Buc, agreeing to terms on a one-year, $9.25-million deal, the team announced Thursday.
News of Suh potentially joining the Bucs shortly after the team parted ways with defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and working out a deal, in part, delayed Suh's prearranged trip to France.
We now know why that trip, which included trekking to various French wineries according to Suh’s Instagram Live stories, was so important.
Suh, 32, became engaged to his girlfriend Katya Leick on the vacation.
Here’s the Instagram post Suh posted Friday morning from Bordeaux, France.
Leick attended the University of Nebraska, Suh’s alma mater, on a basketball scholarship and played two seasons for the Huskers before transferring to Kansas State. She made 27 starts for the Wildcats her senior year, averaging 7.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Since then, Leick has worked as a reporter and anchor for KSNT-TV in Topeka, Kan., and has also done some TV commercial work.
