TAMPA — Only minutes after the Bucs signed quarterback Tom Brady, they went to work on improving his protection.

Tampa Bay signed Colts free-agent offensive lineman Joe Haeg. The 6-foot-6, 297-pounder has played every offensive line position, but mostly guard and tackle.

Haeg signed a one-year deal worth $2.3-million with a chance to earn as much as $3.3-million, according to NFL.com.

The Bucs have a vacancy at right tackle as 11-year veteran Demar Dotson is an unrestricted free agent.

Haeg is not a big name, but he adds versatility that the Bucs will need. He spent four years with the Colts after joining the team in 2016 as a fifth-round pick. He started 35 games over his first three seasons in Indianapolis.
