TAMPA — Tom Brady suddenly can’t throw the deep ball. He is 0-for-19 in the past three games on passes that travel 20 yards or more. But his favorite deep target, receiver Scotty Miller, has played only 24 snaps in the past two games with one catch for 4 yards.Of course, the arrival of Antonio Brown has taken away a lot of those reps. But offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich said Thursday that the Bucs should see more of Miller now that he is recovering from injuries that prevented him from running full speed.“I think people don’t understand, Scotty wasn’t healthy there for a couple weeks,” Leftwich said of Miller, who has battled hamstring and groin injuries this season. “He was really unhealthy for a few weeks and we had to get him healthy because he wasn’t playing fast and we had to get him healthy to be able to run and do those things he was doing.”Prior to Brown’s first game Nov. 8 vs. the Saints, Miller had 38 catches for 400 yards. Since then, he’s had two receptions for 14 yards.“I’m a big fan of Scotty’s, so I know what he can do,” Leftwich said. “He played some but he didn’t play a lot. We’re working him back in. The type of injury he had, you can’t just get healthy and be okay. It wasn’t like it was a hand or a wrist. We’ll get him back healthy and he’ll be more and more involved as we go on just because he’s a great player and he makes plays for us. He’ll be more and more involved as we move on.”
