We have selected the final cover for our 160-page coffee table book commemorating the historic season of the Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
When we began marketing the hardcover book immediately after the clock expired on Super Bowl 55, we had this placeholder image as the cover.
Now the real work begins.
We are assembling about 200 images from Tampa Bay Times photographers taken throughout the season to celebrate the magic.
Traci Johnson, our deputy editor for sports, is overseeing the project and Boyzell Hosey, our deputy editor for photography, will edit the photography. The book also will feature contributions from sports writers Rick Stroud, Joey Knight, John Romano and others. We’ve had some practice with books lately, thanks to the extraordinary success of the Tampa Bay sports franchises.
We expect to finish production of the book in the next few weeks. It will ship directly to you in April, making for a great gift for moms or an early gift for dads.
The book is $39.95 not including shipping and tax. But for a limited time only, you can buy it for $10 off the retail price at www.bucsbook.com.
For the cover of Storybook Season, we had a few different variations of Super Bowl MVP (aka the savior) Tom Brady hoisting the Lombardi Trophy on the risers at Raymond James Stadium, confetti fluttering around him. Dirk Shadd took the pictures.
Brady’s children Jack, Benny and Vivian appeared in the photos with their dad, but the image that captivated us the most featured Vivian with her arms outstretched in celebration.
It was the clear choice.
Now just 199 more images to go.
