TAMPA — The Bucs may be fighting their first COVID-19 outbreak of the season.
Linebacker Kevin Minter and practice squad receiver Travis Jonsen both were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday.
Minter is among the Bucs’ most productive special teams players and a team captain who backs up inside linebacker Devin White. He has two tackles and one assist through the first two games.
Minter missed the Bucs’ NFC division playoff game at New Orleans in January while on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Since Minter and all Bucs players are vaccinated, in order for him to play Sunday at the Rams, he will have to remain asymptomatic with two negative tests 24 hours apart.
The Bucs also added some veteran cornerback depth by signing Rashard Robinson to the practice squad while releasing Herb Miller. The former Jets/49ers/Cowboys defensive back has 18 starts in five seasons and three interceptions. He was suspended the first two games of 2021 for violating the league’s PED policy.
