TAMPA — When the Bucs and Dolphins get together for joint practices next week in Tampa, the sessions will be conducted “like normal practices,” Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles said.

They’ll just have another team involved, with the units spread across two fields.

“We’ll have our team-run periods and our blitz periods and our 7-on-7s and things like that,” Bowles said Saturday.

It’ll be the first of two sets of joint practices for the Bucs. Their sessions with the Dolphins Wednesday and Thursday will lead into the preseason opener on Aug. 13. They’ll travel to Tennessee for joint practices Aug. 17-18, ahead of an Aug. 20 exhibition game.

Earlier in the week, Bowles said “there will be a lot of starters that won’t play in that (Dolphins) game.” He added Saturday that a final decision on who will play likely will be made Friday night. It’ll depend on who receives reps throughout the sessions, who the Bucs “plug-and-play” and who they want to see more.

“We’ll see how the week goes,” Bowles said.

Odds and ends

Bowles said there’s still no update on injured center Ryan Jensen. “I’m sure he’s gotta get other opinions, but we’re waiting on that so we can make a final decision.” … Wide receiver Breshad Perriman, who hasn’t practiced since he pulled up on a route on Monday, “may be out there in the next few days.” … Tight end Kyle Rudolph, tight end Cameron Brate, outside linebacker JoJo Ozougwu, running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn and safety Troy Warner also didn’t practice, in addition to Jensen, Perriman and wide receiver Mike Evans. … Two linebackers intercepted passes Saturday: Lavonte David picked off Tom Brady, and Olakunle Fatukasi snagged a deflected Kyle Trask pass. … Cornerback Carlton Davis recovered a fumble by running back Leonard Fournette.
