Roughly 3 1/2 years after sinking her last mid-range jumper for USF, Courtney Williams still is indirectly elevating the profile of the Bulls women's program.
A multi-dimensional 5-foot-8 guard for the Connecticut Sun, Williams became the second USF alumnus to reach the WNBA finals Sunday night, notching a double-double (17 points, 13 rebounds) in a 78-56 rout of Los Angeles to complete a three-game sweep in the WNBA semifinals.

Williams joins Wanda Guyton as the only former Bulls to reach the finals. Guyton, USF’s No. 4 all-time scorer and No. 2 rebounder, won a pair of WNBA crowns with the Houston Comets in the late 1990s.
Williams, USF’s No. 2 career scorer (2,304 points) and No. 3 rebounder (931), averaged 19 points, 8.7 rebounds and five assists in three semifinal contests. She averaged 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in the regular season.
The Sun (23-11), in the finals for the first time in 14 years, face Las Vegas or Washington in the best-of-five championship round.
