None of former USF coach Charlie Strong’s 10 assistants are being retained by new coach Jeff Scott.

The Tampa Bay Times first reported the assistants, who remained on the road recruiting in the immediate wake of Strong’s dismissal on Dec. 1, were informed by Scott on Monday morning. By the afternoon, their names had been removed from USF’s official online roster, and several coaches had indicated their departure via Twitter.

During his introductory news conference Wednesday, Scott indicated he planned to meet with the remaining staff over the weekend before making any personnel decisions.

“Once I do that, then I’ll kind of start making some decisions that I feel is in the best interest of our football program,” he said. “I’ve already had … a lot of interest, I’ve had a lot of conversations. But I didn’t want to make any hires until I have the opportunity to meet with the current staff here.”

Scott is remaining in Tampa through Wednesday, the start of the NCAA’s early signing period. He then returns to Clemson and will remain with the Tigers as co-offensive coordinator through their College Football Playoff run.
