Barely two months after formally signing with USF, defensive tackle Sione Tuitupou has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal, the Tampa Bay Times has learned.

Bulls247.com first reported the news earlier Monday. A native of Kailua, Hawaii, and father of three, Tuitupou is returning to his home state for family reasons.

He becomes the second Bulls player to enter the portal in the last week. Redshirt freshman linebacker Trey Laing, who appeared in three contests last season, entered his name last Tuesday.

A three-star prospect per 247Sports, Tuitupou (6-foot-4, 290 pounds) played at a pair of junior colleges before signing with the Bulls. Last season, he totaled 22 tackles, 3½ tackles for loss, half a sack and a forced fumble for East Los Angeles College.

The Bulls, under new coach Jeff Scott, begin spring practice March 10.
