The USF women’s basketball team’s game against East Carolina scheduled for Saturday has been postponed due to a positive coronavirus test within the Bulls’ program and the ensuing contact tracing, the athletic department announced Friday in a news release.

No decision has been made regarding a rescheduled date.

The game becomes the sixth removed from USF’s schedule this season. Contests against Houston (Dec. 19) and Wichita State (Wednesday) were postponed due to coronavirus-related issues within those programs, according to USF. Additionally, all three games against SMU have been canceled after the Mustangs opted out of playing the remainder of the season.

No. 14 USF (10-1) is next scheduled to play Temple Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Yuengling Center on the USF campus in Tampa.

The game originally was to be a doubleheader with the men’s program. However, the men’s game was postponed on Wednesday, when the team stopped all team activities due to coronavirus-related issues within the program, the athletic department announced.

Upcoming men’s contests against Wichita State (Sunday) and Temple (Jan. 27) were postponed without a rescheduled date.
