It’s only fitting that the USF men’s basketball team will close out the regular season with yet another change to its schedule.

The athletic department announced Tuesday that instead of traveling to Tulane (for a game that will not be made up), the Bulls will head to Wichita State to close out the regular season on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the game will air on ESPN+.

The USF men’s team had eight games postponed and three canceled this season due to the pandemic. In January, the Bulls stopped all team activities due to coronavirus-related issues within the program.

Those issues, as well as cases within other programs, caused USF to miss miss seven straight games. The Bulls didn’t resume play until a Feb. 10 loss to Houston.

The American Athletic Conference made the latest adjustment in order to create a more representative schedule for teams that have had a high number of conference games canceled. At the time of the announcement, Tulane had played 15 conference games, while USF had played 12 and Wichita State 11.

Saturday’s game will be the final one for the Bulls (8-10, 4-8) before the start of the AAC tournament on March 11.

Wichita State originally was scheduled to play Saturday at Temple, but activities there are currently suspended due to COVID-19 cases within the Owls’ program.
