USF falters at home to SMU

The Bulls never really threaten the Mustangs in losing for the sixth time in their past seven games.

TAMPA — Marcus Weathers scored 17 points, Kendric Davis added 13 points and six rebounds, and SMU led from start to finish in defeating USF 74-54 Wednesday night at the Yuengling Center.

Caleb Murphy scored 14 points, Jamir Chaplin added 11 and Javon Greene had 10 points and six rebounds for the Bulls (6-12, 1-5 AAC), who have lost six of their past seven games.

Emmanuel Bandoumel chipped in with 12 points for the Mustangs (15-4, 6-1), who won their fourth straight.

SMU, which led 36-25 at halftime, also defeated USF 77-65 on Jan. 12.

Up next for USF is a road game against Tulsa on Saturday night
