1. It was obvious which team had been on this stage before. Clemson outgained Miami 231-64 in the first half, and the Hurricanes were flagged for false starts on two of their first five snaps.

2. This Clemson team might not be as good as the one that won a national title in Tampa, but it's still really, really good. The Tigers look like the favorites heading into the College Football Playoff.

3. Clemson WR Deon Cain hasn't dominated this year, but he's quietly adding to his successful college career. The Tampa Bay Tech product's 27-yard TD catch was the 20th of his career; only four other Tigers have reached that milestone.
