If Associated Press voters are right, Florida's college football programs could be in for a down year.Florida State was the lone program from Florida to appear in the AP's preseason top 25, which was released Sunday. The Seminoles are 10th — two spots lower than their ranking in the coaches' poll and nine below defending national champion Ohio State, which became the first unanimous No. 1 preseason selection in poll history.Sunday's poll marks the second time since 1983 that only one school from Florida appeared in the preseason rankings. FSU was the state's only program ranked last year, when it opened at No. 1.Though the Gators weren't among the eight SEC programs ranked, they received four votes. Florida's schedule features six top-25 opponents, including five in a row in a brutal conference stretch from Sept. 26-Oct. 31. The Seminoles will face only two — Georgia Tech (No. 16) and Clemson (No. 12).Ohio State claimed all 61 first-place votes to top the media poll, ahead of TCU, Alabama, Baylor and Michigan State. Auburn, Oregon, USC, Georgia and FSU rounded out the Top 10, with Notre Dame coming in 11th.The other SEC programs ranked were: No. 14 LSU, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 24 Missouri and No. 25 Tennessee.Ohio State won the first College Football Playoff championship last season and is trying to become the 12th team to win consecutive AP titles since the poll began in 1936. It is the eighth time the Buckeyes have been the preseason No. 1; only Oklahoma (10) has done it more.Preseason rankings date to 1950. Since then no team had received more than 97 percent of the first-place votes in a preseason poll. In 2013, Alabama, which had won two straight championships, received 58 of 60 first-place votes and defending champion Florida did the same in 2009. Neither finished the season No. 1.TCU and Baylor, last year's Big 12 co-champions who were denied spots in the playoff, both achieved their highest preseason rankings.
