Buffalo 33, FAU 15: Travis Pitzonka returned a fumble for a score — the first of three Buffalo defensive touchdowns — as the visiting Bulls rallied. Florida Atlantic (0-3) led 9-0 in the second quarter and was driving when running back Jay Warren was stuffed on third and short and coughed up the ball. Pitzonka, a senior linebacker, got the fumble and rumbled 60 yards for the score. In the third quarter, safety Ryan Williamson returned a fumble 34 yards to set up Adam Mitcheson's 19-yard field goal, and cornerback Boise Ross returned an interception 39 yards for a score. The Bulls (2-1) forced five turnovers but were outgained 490-290.

FIU 39, N.C. Central 14: Alex McGough, a sophomore from Gaither High, threw for three touchdowns to match his career high in leading host Florida International over its Division I-AA foe. McGough had 233 total yards by the half. He finished with 319 total yards for the Golden Panthers (2-1), who racked up 490 yards while limiting North Carolina Central (1-2) to 38 rushing yards and 171 passing.

B-CU 7, Lane 3: Anthony Jordan rushed for 74 yards and the game's only touchdown for Bethune-Cookman (2-1) in its home opener. B-CU needed two fourth-quarter stands to hold off Division II Lane. Wildcats QB Quentin Williams, from Jefferson High, went 14-of-19 for 168 yards and added 63 yards rushing.
