As first-year Florida coach Dan Mullen celebrates a trip to a New Year's Six bowl, his former school appears headed to Tampa.

Mississippi State will play Iowa in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 at Raymond James Stadium.

The No. 18 Bulldogs (8-4) had a strong season under new coach Joe Moorhead; all four of their losses came to teams ranked in the top 20.

Iowa (8-4) will be making its sixth trip to the Outback Bowl since 2003. The Hawkeyes' last trip was a 30-3 loss to UF to end the 2016 season.
