One of the Florida Gators’ former top recruits is leaving.

Defensive lineman Antonneous Clayton is pursuing a transfer, he announced Monday via Twitter.

Clayton arrived at UF as a top-30 national recruit, an Under Armour All-American and the Gators’ top signee in the 2016 class. But his production never matched his potential. The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Georgia native amassed only 11 tackles over three seasons.

The move isn’t a complete surprise. He alluded to transferring when he spoke with reporters last week, although it sounded as if he would stay at UF for another season before possibly pursuing a new destination as a grad transfer.
