The Florida Gators will honor the late Mr. Two Bits — Tampa’s George Edmondson — in their Sept. 7 home opener against Tennessee-Martin.

Members of Mr. Edmondson’s family will be the celebrities who lead the cheer before the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

UF will also offer a commemorative T-shirt for fans who buy tickets by next Tuesday through UF.

And the Gators will be adding a mural inside Gate 1 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to commemorate his legacy.

Mr. Edmondson led the famous Two Bits cheer for 60 years, even though he never attended UF. He died earlier this summer at age 97.
