TAMPA — Jameis Winston is getting the "hook-up" again with crab legs, but this time it's legit.

If the former Florida State quarterback is selected by the Bucs in Thursday's NFL draft, Skipper's Smokehouse will give him free crab legs for as long as he's with the team.

Winston was given a citation last year for stealing crab legs from a Tallahassee Publix, though he said last week it was a misunderstanding and he was "hooked up" with crab legs for free.

Celebrity news website TMZ recently contacted Skipper's to see if it was doing any crab legs-Winston tie-in, and the iconic North Tampa seafood restaurant, co-owned by FSU alumnus Tom White, agreed to participate.

"TMZ contacted us as a joke," said Cricket Larson, Skipper's marketing director. "Our making this offer in no way condones the activities surrounding the allegations off the field."

She also said Skipper's is offering a "Famous Jameis Crab Leg Hook-Up" on Thursday as a thank-you to customers: a $10 snow crab dinner. The restaurant will donate all profits from the dinners to a veterans charity, Larson said.
