Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota both played for losing teams Sunday, but their quarterback ratings remained among the most successful rookies of recent decades.

When the Bucs picked Winston first in the NFL draft and the Titans took Mariota No. 2, the Tampa Bay Times created a database of all first round quarterbacks since 1980. Each week, we plug in the statistics and compare Winston and Mariota against the others at the same points in their careers.

Winston remains sixth on the list with a rating of 85.4, just behind Matt Ryan (92.0) and ahead of Jim Kelly (83.5) Mariota is two spots higher with a 92.2 rating, just a hair ahead of Ryan.
