LARGO — Largo's defense continued to shine and with big plays on the offensive side this week, the Packers steam-rolled Class 6A, District 9 opponent Dixie Hollins 32-3.

Key drive: As dominant as the defense, the Rebels stayed within two possessions for close to three quarters. That is until Isaiah Bellamy hit Calvin Lockett in stride on a fade route, putting the Packers on the 1-yard line as Bellamy punched it in. This touchdown with 3:30 left in the third quarter put the game away.

Stars of the game: Bellamy bounced back from a tough loss last week and opened conference play with 292 yards and four touchdowns. Lockett recorded 131 yards and a touchdown on three catches. Julian Cooney totaled 87 receiving yards and an explosive 60-yard touchdown.

Stats of the game: The Packers defense forced a three and out on more than 70 percent of Dixie Hollins' possessions but did give up their first points of the season. It was a short field, however, caused by an offensive fumble. Three total games, three total points given up for the Pack defense.

Final word: "They were up to the challenge this week. We've had some early adversity, but we bounce back. Still a ways to go to fill out our potential, but we're getting there." — Largo coach Marcus Paschal
