SHADY HILLS — Lightning delayed the game about an hour, but as soon as the game started again so did Seffner Christian. The Crusaders, who led 27-6 at halftime, never let up. Seffner Christian had a great night of passing rather than rushing, which had been their main method of gaining yardage, and the Hurricanes had a disappointing homecoming game.
Key drive: Seffner Christian fumbled on its 13-yard line, but Bishop McLaughlin was denied a scoring chance thanks to an interception by Seffner's Juvon Johnson. He ran it back for 28 yards, then Jacob Couch's pass to Marcus Richardson put the Crusaders on the Hurricanes' 1-yard line. Karmi Mackey scored on an easy touchdown run to bring the score to 27-6.
Stars of the game: Senior wide receiver Noah Randall caught two touchdowns for the Crusaders. Richardson scored two touchdowns.
Stat of the game: Bishop McLaughlin held onto the ball longer than Seffner Christian.
Final word: "At the end of the game, no regrets." — Seffner Christian senior wide receiver and linebacker Randall
