Starting offensive lineman Josh Ball is no longer on the Florida State football roster.
Ball has been removed from the team's website and is "not in good standing with Florida State University," according to a school spokesman.
FSU declined to comment further because of student privacy laws.
Thursday's update comes 10 days after an FSU student from Lithia, Sandra Sellers, posted part of a letter claiming that the university suspended him after finding him responsible of an unspecified violation. Students suspended for violations of the conduct code have five days to appeal the ruling.
Suspended students remain enrolled until they withdraw from all classes.
Sellers previously accused the 6-foot-8, 335-pound Ball of physically attacking her multiple times during their relationship. Ball, a former four-star recruit from Virginia, kept playing after Sellers' accusations became public last fall. Ball, who was never criminally charged, started the final nine games at left tackle as a redshirt freshman and was expected to contend for a starting spot at tackle this season.
Attorneys for Sellers and Ball have not publicly commented on the case.
