Even though Florida State has struggled in the first two games of the Willie Taggart era, Syracuse coach Dino Babers is concerned about what he'll be facing Saturday.
"Obviously Willie is known for his offense," Babers said Wednesday on the ACC coaches' teleconference. "His offenses have always been good, and he's got outstanding personnel to work with at Florida State. I think these guys are ready to explode on somebody, and I hope it's not us."
FSU's offense hasn't seemed explosive yet. The Seminoles are averaging 5.42 yards per play (No. 92 nationally) and only scored three points against Virginia Tech in Week 1.
Still, Taggart is optimistic that the offensive fireworks he was known for at USF could be coming soon.
"We are close," Taggart said. "We show signs of what we can be on the offensive side of the ball. We just haven't done it consistently enough…"
