Dan Mullen’s five-star recruiting drought at Florida appears to be over.

Gators signee Gervon Dexter has received his fifth star in the 247Sports composite rankings. With that distinction, he’ll be the first five-star prospect Mullen has signed out of high school.

The only other five-star recruits on UF’s roster are a pair of transfers: Running back Lorenzo Lingard from Miami and outside linebacker Brenton Cox from Georgia. Cox did not play last season, and Lingard joined the program earlier this month.

Dexter is the No. 24 overall recruit in the class of 2020 and signed with the Gators last month. The Lake Wales product is the No. 2 defensive tackle in the nation and the third-best prospect in Florida. He was also an Under Armour All-American.

UF’s 2020 class is ranked seventh nationally with the traditional signing date two weeks away.
