The Florida Gators learned their full 2021 football schedule on Wednesday, starting with a home game against Willie Taggart, the former head coach at rival Florida State who’s now at Florida Atlantic.
The Gators then start their three-game series with USF by traveling to Raymond James Stadium. UF is scheduled to host the Bulls in 2022 and ’25. The teams have only met once before: a 38-14 Gators win in 2010.
UF will open SEC play with a bang, hosting reigning national champion Alabama on Sept. 18. The Gators have lost seven in a row to the Crimson Tide, with their last win coming in the 2008 SEC championship.
Florida will then host Tennessee and new coach Josh Heupel in Week 4, followed by a trip to Kentucky.
The Gators will carry their two-game losing streak against LSU into Baton Rouge on Oct. 16. As usual, UF will be off the week before the game against Georgia (Oct. 30) in Jacksonville.
UF concludes the year by resuming its famed rivalry with FSU, which was shelved last season because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Gators and Seminoles had played every year since 1958.
