Quarterback Jalen Kitna has been dismissed from the Florida Gators’ football team, two days after he was arrested on five child pornography complaints.
Kitna was released from the Alachua County Jail on Thursday, after bond was set at $80,000. He cannot use the internet or have unsupervised contact with minors as conditions of his release. He’s expected to leave the state to return to his family’s home in Texas.
The 19-year-old faces two second-degree felony complaints of possession of child pornography with the intent to promote. One of those complaints involved an image of a prepubescent girl, according to the Gainesville Police Department. He also faces three third-degree felony complaints of possessing child pornography.
Kitna had been No. 2 on UF’s depth chart, behind starting quarterback Anthony Richardson.
He is the son of longtime NFL quarterback Jon Kitna.
