Two Florida Gators have been taken in Saturday’s third day of the NFL draft.

Lakeland native Ventrell Miller went in the fourth round (No. 121 overall) to the Jaguars. He is the sixth Florida player Jacksonville has drafted since 2013.

Miller battled injuries but was one of the Gators’ top defensive players when healthy. He started 33 games in his Florida career and totaled 240 tackles (124) solo over his career.

Receiver Justin Shorter went to the Bills in the fifth round (No. 150 overall). He spent two years as a starter at Florida after transferring from Penn State. Shorter ranked second on the team last year with 577 yards.

His selection gave the Gators five of the first 150 picks. The others: quarterback Anthony Richardson (No. 4 overall, Colts), defensive lineman Gervon Dexter (No. 53, Bears) and guard O’Cyrus Torrence (No. 59, Bills).

Florida State’s lone draft pick was safety Jammie Robinson, who went to the Panthers in the fifth round (No. 145 overall). The transfer from South Carolina was the Seminoles’ first defensive player to earn first-team all-ACC honors in back-to-back years since Jalen Ramsey (2014-15).

Former Miami tight end Will Mallory went to the Colts in the fifth round (No. 162 overall). One pick later, the Bengals chose Illinois running back Chase Brown, who starred at Bradenton’s St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.

Another Hurricane, cornerback DJ Ivey, is headed to the Bengals (No. 246 overall).

The first Pinellas County product went in the sixth round when the Raiders drafted Florida’s Amari Burney. The versatile linebacker and hero of UF’s win over Utah played high school ball at Clearwater Central Catholic and Calvary Christian.

The Packers took St. Petersburg High product Anthony Johnson in the seventh round (No. 242 overall). He was one of the Big 12′s top defensive backs at Iowa State.

Three picks later, another local was chosen: Isaiah Bolden. The cornerback from Wesley Chapel High started his college career at Florida State but transferred to play for Deion Sanders at Jackson State. The Patriots took him No. 245 overall.

In the seventh round, the Raiders took defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera (No. 231 overall). He began his college career at Miami before transferring to Arizona State.
