Hillsborough football coach Earl Garcia confirmed Monday morning one of his players tested positive for COVID-19 last week, and currently is being quarantined.
The player’s position group (offensive and defensive linemen) and position coaches also are in quarantine, Garcia indicated.
Football programs in the county began practice last Monday. County athletic director Lanness Robinson said the school district has experts who determine the length of quarantines, though the general rule is 14 days.
The Terriers are set to open the season at home Sept. 11 against Gaither. The status of that contest remains unclear.
