Berkeley Prep edge rusher Keon Keeley announced Monday that he has orally committed to Alabama.

Keeley is the Tampa Bay area’s top recruit in the 2023 class and the nation’s No. 10 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports composite. The five-star recruit decommitted from Notre Dame in August and was also heavily pursued by Ohio State and Florida, among others.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Keeley recorded 23½ tackles for a loss and 17 sacks during his senior season. He finished his career with 64½ and 37, respectively, plus 36 quarterback hurries. He’s the area’s highest-ranked recruit since another Berkeley Prep product, offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere, signed with Ohio State in the 2018 class. He’s now a rookie with the Tennessee Titans.

Keeley joins a recruiting class ranked No. 1 in the country, ahead of Georgia and Notre Dame. Oral commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior year. The early signing period begins Dec. 21.
